In his speech, Nachi-Fujikoshi president Honma said: "The city of Zhangjiagang occupies a key location on the Changjiang River delta, and is a focal point for China’s development. It also happens to be the place where the Chinese Buddhist missionary Jianzhen (Ganjin) set off for Japan more than 1,200 years ago. We are very happy to be able to construct a factory here, and very thankful to the many people who worked hard to make this possible. We want the factory to become a major center of production in China. As a manufacturer of a wide range of machinery and equipment, we intend to supply many products, services and solutions to customers in industrial sectors where demand is growing very quickly, especially in the motor vehicle, construction machinery, machine tool, railway rolling stock and aircraft sectors."
Panels had been set up at the site to give background information on the company’s projects and introduce many of the company-related technologies and products, and a robot performed a dance of welcome, attracting the attention of those in attendance.
